Therapy is a powerful and meaningful investment in your well-being!
Imagine someone you deeply care about is going through a tough time — feeling lost, overwhelmed, or unsure how to move forward. They’re struggling to find hope or make the changes they need. Would you encourage them to seek the support of a caring professional? Would you remind them that their journey toward healing, clarity, and empowerment is worth every bit of time, effort, and money?
Now, think of yourself as that dear friend. So often, we’re quick to offer compassion, understanding, and care to others, yet we hesitate to give ourselves the same kindness and permission.
You deserve that same support, safety, and empowerment.
When you choose to invest in therapy, you're choosing to prioritize your well-being in a world that often asks you to put everything else first. Sometimes, prioritizing your mental health may mean reassessing and gently shifting where your resources go. This isn't about judgment or pressure; it's about honoring the deep value of healing, growth, and self-understanding.
Your emotional health is not a luxury!
When you choose to invest in yourself, you’re not just addressing immediate challenges — you’re building a stronger, more resilient foundation for every part of your life. This choice isn’t about sacrifice; it’s about creating space for the life you deserve. And this journey toward living fully, with confidence and peace, begins when you give yourself the same love and care you so readily extend to others.

Balanced Within Counseling is not contracted with any insurance plans.
As the founder and sole practitioner of Balanced Within Counseling, I am a private-pay and out-of-network (OON) provider.
If your insurance plan offers OON benefits, you may be eligible for partial reimbursement. In some cases, OON reimbursement can make sessions comparable in cost to an in-network copay. I provide a monthly superbill that you can submit directly to your insurance company for reimbursement.
If you’re unsure whether your plan includes OON mental health coverage, contact your insurance company (the member services number is on the back of your card). Ask the following:
Does my plan include out-of-network mental health benefits?
What is my copay or coinsurance amount per session?
Is there a deductible that must be met before reimbursement begins, and what is that amount?
Are there any limits on the number of therapy sessions covered?
Please verify your benefits before scheduling. You are solely responsible for communication and paperwork related to your OON reimbursement, and I cannot guarantee payment amounts or approval.
For clients who need insurance access, I occasionally partner with select networks (such as Headway, GrowTherapy, and Rula) that handle billing and administrative processes directly. These partnerships allow new clients who rely on insurance to access care, while my private practice remains fully independent and private-pay. Please contact me directly for more information.
I accept debit, credit, and HSA/FSA cards for payment. All payments are collected immediately following each session through my HIPAA-compliant electronic health record system.

I am deeply committed to making quality mental health care accessible to those facing financial barriers. I also recognize that therapy is an investment, and I strive to balance affordability with sustainability in my practice. Because my work extends beyond direct therapy sessions, I can only offer a limited number of reduced-rate spots.
If you are in need of financial consideration, I invite you to reach out to see if any reduced-rate openings are available. I kindly ask that you assess your financial situation honestly, as accessing a lower rate when you can comfortably afford the standard fee may take away an opportunity from someone in greater need.
***As of October 2025, all reduced-rate spots are currently full. However, if you would like to be added to the waiting list, please don’t hesitate to reach out.***

Effective January 1, 2022, a ruling went into effect called the No Surprises Act, which requires practitioners to provide a Good Faith Estimate about out-of-network care.
The Good Faith Estimate works to show the costs that are reasonably expected for your health care needs for an item or service, a diagnosis, and a reason for therapy. The estimate is based on information known at the time the estimate was created.
Under Section 2799B-6 of the Public Health Service Act (PHSA), health care providers and health care facilities are required to inform individuals who are not enrolled in a plan or coverage or a Federal health care program, or not seeking to file a claim with their plan or coverage both orally and in writing of their ability, upon request, or at the time of scheduling health care items and services to receive a Good Faith Estimate of expected charges.
Once you make a service appointment with Balanced Within Counseling, you will be provided with a more detailed Notice of No Surprises Act Protection and your personalized Good Faith Estimate.
